FAQ #1

How easy is it to convert my bathtub into a walk in shower?

Answer: This is very easy to do. We remove your tub, build a curb, and then tile the inside of your new walk in shower. There are many options you can include in your shower such as a niche for your shampoo and soap, a bench or grab bars.

When do I need to book a contractor for my kitchen renovation?

Answer: A contractor will be booked up several months in advance plus it takes a minimum of 6 weeks for your kitchen cabinets to be built. Consequently you should book a contractor 3-6 months in advance. The earlier you bring your contractor in to the process, the more help you can receive in the planning stages.

FAQ #2

When can you start my project?

Answer: This really depends upon the time of year you are approaching us for work. From April to September, we are the busiest booking new jobs. We recommend that as soon as you are thinking about doing a project, give us a call at 905-259-3344 to schedule a quotation. That starts the process rolling and gets you in our queue.

FAQ #3

Do you do small jobs too?

ABSOLUTELY!!! We love doing the small jobs, even something simple like installing a light fixture, doing a small patch of drywall repair or painting one room.

FAQ #4

How much do you charge?

Answer: We quote most jobs as a fixed price once we have seen your project, taken measurements and compiled a quote. Our rates vary depending on whether your project includes plumbing, electrical, tiling or other renovation skills.

FAQ #5

How long will my project take?

Answer: Every project is unique and different and the timing of the project is very dependent upon a number of factors. As we pride ourselves on the quality of our work, quality and excellence takes time. We will never rush a project in order to get it done a little faster. If you are on a deadline to have your project completed within a certain time frame, please ensure you discuss this with us first to determine if your project can indeed be completed in that time frame. We strongly recommend that you have flexibility on the timing of your project. The nature of construction is that there is a lot of unpredictability as you never know what you are going to find behind walls, things can simply take longer than anticipated etc.

If you are thinking about a bathroom or kitchen renovation, please consider signing up for our Love Your Home seminars (register on our website) where we will discuss timing of the different types of renovation projects.

FAQ #6

How long have you been doing this type of work?

Answer: Multi Trade Building Services has been in business since 1991. We started by only offering electrical services when the owner, Paul Kacaba, obtained his electrical license. He soon started offering plumbing services as soon as he obtained his plumbing license soon after. Paul came from a family of plumbers with his Dad and both of his brothers, also Licensed Plumbers. The company expanded around 2000 to also include other aspects of renovation work such as drywall, painting, tiling, framing and carpentry. More employees were added who were professionals in their respective fields and could best serve our clients' needs. We strive to provide outstanding customer service and quality workmanship in all areas of renovations. Our team motto is, "We strive for perfection. We settle for excellence."

FAQ #7

What type of paint do you use?

Answer: We proudly use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paint for all of our painting jobs. Our skilled and experienced painters are always staying on top of the newest technologies with regular phone calls and visits from the reps at Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams. We can colour match colours from any other supplier as well. We work with our clients to ensure we are using exactly the right type of paint that you want used in your room. For example, we recommend egg shell or flat on most walls but if you prefer a satin finish, we are happy to accommodate.

FAQ #8

Do you charge for quotations?

Answer: No, it is a free, no obligation quotation.

FAQ #9

I know I want to get my kitchen renovated but really don't know what layout I want. Will you design it for me and is there a fee?

Answer: We will meet with you, discuss your ideas for your kitchen, find out what currently works and what doesn't in your existing layout, offer suggestions on creating the most efficient and beautiful space and provide you with a layout, design and quotation at no cost. We will "tweak" your design once with a revised drawing and quotation. At that point, clients are usually able to decide if they want to work with MTBS on their project and commit with a contract and non-refundable deposit. If you are still uncertain, we'd be happy to continue work on your design concept at our consultation rate of $125 per hour + HST. If you decide to commit to working with us after your design is exactly what you want it to be, your consultation fees will be refunded in the form of a credit toward your project. Some limitations apply.
