Busy Renovation Season

We have been absolutely swamped with requests for quotations lately!  It's that time of year that everyone is thinking about renovating their home.  Bathroom and kitchen renovations are the most popular this year.
What's really important before you call your contractor for a quotation is that you have a good idea of what you want.  Think about the space you are renovating, whether it's your bathroom, kitchen, basement or family room. Some questions to ask yourself include:

What will the room be used for?
What do I presently like about the space?
What don't I like and want changed?
If money were no object, what would be my ideal layout and project?
If I could only afford to do one thing here, what would that be?
Do I want to do this project all at once or do I prefer to do it in stages?  Often, finishing a basement can be done in stages
Is there a theme or colour scheme that should be followed?
Will you be providing the fixtures/materials or do you want a shop at home service from your contractor?

These questions are just a starting point.  Your contractor can certainly advise you on what their recommendations are for the space you're renovating but the more you bring to the table, the greater likelihood your renovation will be what YOU want it to be.
